When you finally decide
To get an X-ray
You have to explain the nature of your injury three times:
At reception, to the tech, and to the doctor.
The doctor informs you nothing is broken
But the information he hands you about domestic violence
And the look in his eyes
Say otherwise.
Like so many other days
In so many other rooms
I wonder,
How did I get here?
Just remember it’s not your fault Julie. It’s not your fault. We love and adore you and want you to be safe. We or should I speak for myself? I want you to be happy. You deserve to have happiness and joy in your life. Healing takes time. Try not to be too hard on yourself. But do take time to heal inside and out. It takes a lot of hard work to truly heal inside. Looking in the mirror and telling yourself you deserve so much better, not to mention you are worthy. You are worthy. You are valuable. I used to walk around thinking and feeling I am not worthy or valuable allowing people to walk all over me. I allowed it. Growing up, I felt invisible, worthless, absolutely not valued. I showed people this, and that is how I was treated. Some people call it “gaslighting”, and worse violence, and abuse to the point of one day waking up, and saying to yourself “enough is enough, I am worthy and I am valuable and I deserve what I want from life”. You are worthy, you are valuable, you are loved. you are brilliant Julie, You are deserving , and it’s not your fault. You will notice all the “red flags” now, and forever. But don’t let that block your happiness. Stay strong, you are worth it, and we who love and adore you know this to be true. You are worthy. You are valued. You are brilliant inside and out. We are here for you always. xoxoxoxoxoxo
